Time: 90 minutes
Level: High Intermediate
Materials: the story of Aladdin, song, cardboard, pen, worksheet
Skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening
Objective: Students will be able to create the new setting story by using the character
from the story they read.

Procedures:
Playing the” A whole new world” while students coming to the class. After all students come, teacher asks them about the song. “Did you know this song?” “Which cartoon uses this song?” “Could you tell us about the story?” This will help students brainstorm today’s lesson and teacher can also tell students this story might have different thing with what they already knew.
Teacher ask students to underline the words they do not know and as group of three discuss the meaning of each word and teacher can go ground to check their meaning and help students.
After understanding the meaning of vocabulary, students are asked to read the story silently and introduce the new game “story pizza”. Pretend that that the cardboard circle is large pizza and cut the cardboard pizza into three equal slices. Discuss with the students events at the beginning, middle, and the end of the story. Next have the students draw a picture or write at least one sentence that tells about each event on a separate piece of pizza. Then have the child put the slices of pizza in the correct order, working clockwise.
After students comprehend the story, ask students scan the story and as a group answer following questions:
• What is the name of the captain of the guards?
• What did Aladdin steal from the market place just before he met Jasmine?
• What wish amongst the following, is something the Genie can NOT grant?
• What was Jafar's final wish?
• Who made the cave of Wonders sink into the ground after Aladdin grabbed the lamp?
Next, as a whole class choose a character from the story together. Discuss what the character is like and how it acts, reacts, and solves problems, and so on. Then ask students as a group of three create a whole new story or situation and put that character in it. Invited the students to talk about what the character would do and how the character would react in that entirely new setting.
